Well, it is amazing how quickly these things come around. Seems like Timo arrived only a few months ago and now we are off to my 3rd Hegewald.

For anyone, who is going to watch the details are;

The main Assembly point is : Dithmarschenhalle, Meldorf, Schleswig-Holstein (North West Germany, almost Denmark!).

The nearest convenient airport is Hamburg but it is about 111km (1 hour 15 minutes) up the A23 to Meldorf. You will need a hire car or someone to take you round if you want to see the field days.

Wednesday 3rd October - 9.00am-2.00pm - Registrations of dogs and handlers for event (the best chance to meet people and see all the 240 dogs entered) 6.30pm Opening ceremony (this is when we get maps etc.)

Thursday 4th October - 7.30am-4.00pm - Travel in small groups to pre-arranged meeting points all over the area. Half do Field tests, the others do Water/Conformation tests all day. Generally 4 dogs per group.

Friday 5th October - 7.30am-4.00pm - Same as Thursday but groups swap over to do other events.

Saturday 6th October - 10.00am - 1.00pm - Hegewaldzuchtshau (to be held at Bargenstedt (about 5 kms away from Meldorf) at the Reithalle) 6.00pm Closing ceremony and presentations.

Timo (Timo II V Bockenhagen ) and I are entry no. 225, so come and say hello. Timo is a son of my first Hegewald dog, Kira, and there are 5 more of his litter brothers and sisters at the Hegewald this year - Tell II (no 6), Tessa II (no 173), Tina II (no 177), Tom II (no 174) and Toska II (no 221).

Wish me luck - I think I will need some to get through this year - Timo is one of the youngest dogs and I could have done with another couple months preparation.
