Drahthaars in Action
Posted January 14th, 2007 |
Here is a short video of two Drahthaars in training to work together. Kasey (a German Wirehaired Pointer but son of Mirko, a true Drahthaar) has gone ahead and on point on a pheasant in the bracken. Pauline ( a young Drahthaar) is being encouraged by me to close in gradually.
Both dogs are then sent in to flush the bird and get it to lift into the air. This was a ‘dogging in’ session so the bird was not shot as the purpose of the exercise is to shift the pheasants back to the main pens.
