German imported Drahthaars dominate at Crufts 2007
Posted March 8th, 2007 |
The judging of German Wirehaired Pointers (Drahthaars) has finished and although the overall winner this year was much as expected, imported Drahthaars dominated the top places this year demonstrating the quality of the breed in Germany.
Under judge, Mike Blay and final results were:
Best Dog and Best of Breed
Ch Freddy Vom Kapellenhof at Bareve (imp Deu)
Reserve Best Dog
Ch Kimmax Kennedy
Best Bitch
Fenja Vom Kapellenhof at Benninghof (imp Deu)
Reserve Best Bitch
Pauline II V Bockenhagen at Kimmax (imp Deu)
Best Puppy
Kimmax Three’s A Krowd
Quite a line up, 3 imported Drahthaars, all on this website, and two full champions. Interestingly Fenja is litter sister to Freddy and though not owned by Sharon Pinkerton, Fenja was handled by her for her owner Hilda Hilson. It was Hilda who helped Sharon import Freddy with her contacts in Germany.
Pauline II V Bockenhagen, was the import that did so well at the Hegewald in Germany last year, proved she has show class as well by pushing hard for the top bitch spot, despite her youth. She is definitely one to watch for the future both in the show ring and the field.
Congratulations to everyone - lets see if the pundits are right about the Gundog Group.
